Thursday: Band Concert

 
We would like to invite you to H.D.Cartwright's Final Concert presented by the music department.
 
This will feature our grade 7, grade 8, grade 9 bands as well as performances by the Flute Ensemble, Guitar students, and the H.D.C. Jazz Band.
 
We hope you will be able to join us and celebrate the work and commitment of the music students. This will take place at 7 pm on Thursday, June 16th. Rush seating.

9-1 Week #3 Utopia Status Updates


Amisha, Rupin, Jessica, Martin: The country felt rumblings and its citizens are being offered social and emotional support. Moreover, the government is engaged in support its people.

Nadeem, Pacifica, Karan, April: We were impacted by a tsunami and we are shipping excess water to our drought impacted alliance country.

Joey, Kate, Harris, Areeba: Impacted by wildfires and figuring out trading partners.

Rebecca, Hesham, Sydney, Alex: Resolved natural disaster and created UN.

Lei, Lachlan, Courtney, Simon: We are getting over the environmental disaster and supporting other countries.


Shannon, Ahd, Mai-Lan, Devaughn: We are impacted by the drought and have started forming relationships with water heavy countries.


Lexy, Taha, Tommy, Huda: Our country was impacted by flooding and we are working on cleaning our community with volunteers.

Hunayn, Mara, Julia, Lynden: Our country's main priority is to focus on the health and safety of our citizens

Sarah, Sabrina, Evan, Mihir: Government is trying to inform and educate the public of how the disease is spread and mobilizing health care to provide vaccines and necessary medications.

9-1 Week #2: Utopia Status Updates


Amisha, Rupin, Jessica, Martin: We have finished our political system and our country charter. We have a process for passing bills and laws. We have a name: Pualani.

Nadeem, Pacifica, Karan, April: We are doing rights and freedoms of our country and our Social Programs. We have a name: Wham Cake Island.

Joey, Kate, Harris, Areeba: We are working out on our political system and we are trying to figure out rights and freedoms for our citizens. Looking at trading allies. We have a name: Vermilious.

Rebecca, Hesham, Sydney, Alex: We are focusing on economics and we are trying to sort ourselves out as we are confused as a group. But feel we have a good start on the beliefs, values and political system of our country.

Lei, Lachlan, Courtney, Simon:  We are almost done our economic systems and are getting close to being done our social systems. We have a name: Malicuria.

Shannon, Ahd, Mai-Lan, Devaughn: We have figured out our political/environment systems and are now working on our social system. We also found out what resources we need to meet our basic needs, so we are planning on discussing with other groups about trade partnerships. We have a name: Zaconda.

Lexy, Taha, Tommy, Huda: We are finishing our political system and are entering our economic system with a country charter being create, We have a name: Pazious.

Hunayn, Mara, Julia, Lynden: We are wrapping things up in the Political system and making head way in the economic system. We have a name: Kalion.

Sarah, Sabrina, Evan, Mihir: We finished our Economic discussion. We are working on our Social System and are in process of making a good country. We had decided that our country name should be Goldborne cause we have a lot of gold.

9-1 Week #1: Utopia Status Updates

Completed Student-Group Conferences to get Country updates. Here are the groups after the first week of Utopia.

Amisha, Rupin, Jessica, Martin: "We are discussing our political and economic systems--using our beliefs and values to guide our decisions."

Nadeem, Pacifica, Karan, April: "Having completed values and beliefs, we are working on political, economic, environmental systems --believe we are centre left society."

Joey, Kate, Harris, Areeba: "Poor and small country. Working on health care and education. Going back and completing and reflecting on the values and beliefs chart".

Rebecca, Hesham, Sydney, Alex: "We are having heated discussions about what our economic and political beliefs should be. We have found a compromise on what our beliefs should be or around ---we are middle left wing."

Lei, Lachlan, Courtney, Simon: "We are in the process of making a great country."


Shannon, Ahd, Mai-Lan, Devaughn: "We have the basis of our values, economic and political systems but we need to tie off a few loose ends. By a few, we mean a lot, but we got it all under control."


Lexy, Taha, Tommy, Huda: "We have completed general rules and regulations amongst our country with a light overview of vision for the future."

Hunayn, Mara, Julia, Lynden: "We are in the process of completing our political system-combination of representation of democracy and demarchy."

Sarah, Sabrina, Evan, Mihir: "We believe that our political system should be a social democracy and our economic system should be a command/mixed economy or known as socialism."
