Example:

The YCJA is not fair and equitable to all Canadians, specifically within youth cases. It has been seen multiple times that the YCJA treats youth to leniently and consequences are not severe enough. If they were more severe, the youth crime rate might decrease rather than increase, as noted recently. In the Billy Joel case, where he was charged with second-degree murder he was only given seven months in the CYOC. Explain 2nd degree murder. Furthermore, when Stats Canada graphs are examined, the crime rate for petty theft to murder charges has continued to increase by 20% to 2013-2015. Evidence has shown that the YCJA is not protecting all Canadians.
