At this point all major decisions regarding your Utopia nation should have been made, and the MRP for each section should be assembling good copies of everything they need.
Your time next week will look like this:
June 7:
Start Individual Response booklet and peer
evaluations. If time, begin trifolds.June 8:

Take a breath for the project is about to start to feel
heavy (figuratively). Make sure you are
staying focused and working hard. If it
is feeling frustrating and a bit overwhelming then you are on the right
track. Here is the next checklist to
keep you organized and working smoothly.
Today is also a check in day with Mr. Yeats. Let’s see where you are in the mix of things
and group organization.
Group Organization:
- · Have a conversation about how important it is to stay forward and continue testing your ability to stay cohesive. You are the collective! You are a unit!
- What do we need to get done today?
- · Make sure you know what you must do for the weekend. My responsibility is to complete . . .
- · What do you need from your group to complete your part this weekend? (ex. Cell phone number, google doc, getting together at someone’s house, information on . . .)
Section C (Allocated 2 periods for Social Programs which
begins today May 26th)
- o Have you answered and reported on all the question in “Things to consider”?
- o Have you created an artifact to represent:
1.sectors contributing to GDP
2.a scale map of your country
3.National Product (this is 9 extra tasks!!! ****Did you create some sort
of Advertisement**** Mr. Yeats is looking at this task as your cumulative for
our Consumerism Chapter in S.S)
4.Have you created a trading agreement with one other society? (We will
be working with Mr.Yeats class today if you would like to conquer this task)
5.Have you placed yourselves on the ECONOMIC grid,spectrum or axis?
- o Have you started Social Systems with a group conversation?
- o Have you answered and reported on ALL the questions in “Things to consider”?
- o Have you created an artifact for:
1. Your Taxation Model (Explain if you have sales tax, graduating tax,
flat income, provincial, no tax because you have mineral rights and own certain
industries/resources). If you are struggling google taxation models to have an
idea as to where to head for representing your own model on the trifold.
2. Budget and graph to show government income and expenditures. (In class
we create charts to represent our budgets)

A list of necessary portfolios and an explanation of the service they offer.

Checklist- Group Organization
- Have you established a group google doc? (make sure to share with your teachers: Mr.Perritt, Ms.Atwal, Mr.Yeats)
- Have you chosen your MRP for each section (the person whole will gather the finished items from the section and have executive power as to how they will be displayed on the trifold)
- Have you decided who will be completing what over the weekend if you are behind as a group
- Have you thought about exchanging numbers or emails with your group
Task Timeline Checklist:

Have you gotten all your statistics and details about your
society?

Have you looked up where you are located?
o
Have you compared yourself to other countries with similar statistics?
o
Have you considered the dynamics of these details and how
they will influence the choices you will make for your society?

Have you figured out your total GDP, given thought to your
taxation %, look at your available resources in a broad sense before you begin
discussion you political system?

Economic Systems is given 4 periods
and time management (planning) will be crucial.
